Katie looked up in horror with eyes quickly clearing of their sleepy fog to see something out of a nightmare. Tara Nichols, her schools resident bully/student body president/head cheerleader. The first worked with the second and third in more a sort of social and mental than physical bullying. Tara was convinced that the stars had been hung for her, and that everyone had been made to serve her. She lorded over everyone she felt was under her in any sense, especially loners like Katie. She'd dreaded someone like Tara finding out about her diapers. It appeared that that nightmare had come true. "So, retard, you gonna say anything, or are you just gonna sit there and stare at me? Lie there and wet your diapers, widdly baby Katie?" Tara said. Somehow she seemed taller than the last time they'd met, but that might have just been because Katie was lying down. She looked around for her mother, or Marilyn, or Laurie, but they must have gone off for a bit of a walk, the park was a fairly safe place. She was all alone. Just on the verge of crying Katie scrambled to her feet, her diaper rustled and she realized that she was very wet. The pale pink of the plastic had been stained a rather nasty yellow. "I...I....I" she stammered, tears starting to run down her cheeks. "Stuttering retard. Ah well, everyone's gonna love to hear about this. See ya, retard!" Tara said over her shoulder as she walked away. Katie saw there were a bunch of girls standing near a tree, smoking, chatting with Tara. She knew them all. They were all laughing at her. It seemed like everyone was laughing at her. She started running, her wet diaper rustling and crackling around her, everyone was laughing at her. And then she woke up with a start on her towel. She was crying and by the concerned looks of her mother, and Laurie and hers that she had obviously not been silent or still. She ran over to her mother, realizing that her diaper was quite wet, and hugged her. She sobbed into Mary's shoulder, hugging her tightly. "Mommy...I had a...a...a...bad dream!" she sobbed, like some young child. Her mother just stroked her hair. "It's alright, Katie. It's ok. Do you want to talk about it while we change you out of this wet diaper you're in?" Katie nodded, silently as she cried and her mother helped her to the public washrooms. There were large tables inside, presumably for changing the diapers of older children or teenagers (afterall, even disabled kids had to be able to enjoy the beach if they had to wear diapers and couldn't change themselves), and Mary helped Katie up onto it. She took out a changing pad, a bag of wipes, and a clean diaper from the back pack she'd brought with her, and slid the pad under Katie's bottom. "So, honey, what happened?" Katie was still sobbing a bit, but managed to say, "I dreamed that....Tara Nichols found out about my...my diapers and everyone was....everyone was laughing at me!" she said. "I thought...I thought I was really happy in diapers...but everyone's going to laugh at me when they find out!" She broke into fresh tears as her mother undid her diaper and found that Katie was still wetting in it, closing it back over her for several moments then checking again to find that the flow of pee had stopped. She wipes Katie clean, then balled up the sodden diaper and threw it in a nearby trashcan. Unfolding the clean one, Mary said "It's going to be alright, Katie. We have an entire summer to figure out how to keep the kids at school from knowing about your diapers. I'm sorry I made you wear that short skirt last time, I won't do it again." Katie sniffed and wiped her eyes as her fresh diaper was pulled and taped up on her. "It's alright, mom. You're right, we have time to thing about it. And even if we can't come up with anything, I'm not going to let them get me down." Mary helped her off the table and Katie stood tall. "And I am sure as hell not going to let them ruin my summer, just because of some fears for next year and a nightmare." Mary smiled, feeling proud, she ruffled Katie's hair. "That's my girl. Now come on, you slept for a couple hours, and Laurie was saying that she wanted you to wake up so you two could go to the playground." Katie smiled, "Sounds like a plan...mommy." To be continued...
