Chapter 11 "So anyway," the prone Katie told her mother while the older woman changed her, "I talked to Laurie about diapers and swimming." Her mother wiped her messy bum, balled up the wipes with the diaper and threw them into the diaper pail to one side of the bed. "And what did she say?" her mother asked as she slid a clean diaper under Katie, talking as if they were sitting together, not her changing her teenage daughter's diaper. "She said there were these special swimming bottoms you could buy. She said they hold all the poo in while if you wet it just goes into the water." Katie explained while her new diaper was taped on. It had been about four days since their lunch together, and Katie was no longer at all nervous about wearing diapers in public. She had gone back to the arcade that she had so rudly been insulted out of, bought her tokens, and damn anyone who tried to make her unhappy. Afterall, not only did she not have a choice in the matter of the diapers, but she also enjoyed them. She felt safe with them on, as if the childlike appearence and nature afforded her a similar childlike indifference. "Sounds rather unsanitary." her mother said as she helped Katie up. Katie stood with a loud crinkle of plastic from her diapers and smiled a bit in pleasure. A week ago she had hated and dreaded that sound, now it was like music to her. "Well, I guess they could only go so far with this sort of thing. They couldn't make them waterproof, then they'd probably just cut off circulation. I mean, these things are pretty tight," she said, putting her thumb in the waist of her diaper and pulling a bit to emphasize her point, "but they still have some give to them." She shrugged, "Besides, most pools have lots of chlorine in them, enough to kill any bacteria. And little kids wear swim diapers like this all the time anyway, so they can't be that bad." Her mother nodded, slowly, conceding to Katie's logic. "So, does Laurie know where you can get some of these? If she does I hope they're nearby. I don't fancy driving a long ways to get them, and I also don't fancy you going to a pool either with a normal diaper on or no diaper on." Katie shuddered a bit at that. She wasn't nervous about wearing diapers, but having accidents with no diapers on was something completley different. "Umm," said Katie, "I kind of forgot to ask her that." Her mother sighed. "You'd forget your head if it wasn't screwed on." she said jokingly. "But really, why don't you just ask her out to lunch or something and ask her there? You haven't seen her in a few days, and you two make quite the pair, or so her mother told me. I was talking with her yesterday and she said that she likes it that Laurie has another friend in diapers who is more or less just another girl." Katie smiled, "Sure, why not? It's only 11 now, can I call her and ask if we can have lunch today?" she said, quite happy. Her mother thought for a minute, "Sure. Why don't you ask if her mother and her would like to come to the park in town? You two can play around there and we can chat." she suggested, then smirked. "It'll be like having two baby girls again, running around the park while their mommies watch." Katie laughed, "In Laurie's case that's pretty appropriate." she thought for a minute then asked a bit nervously, "Uh mom, can I ask you a little favor while we're at the park?" Her mother looked at her, "Sure, I suppose." "Well," Katie started, "Laurie can't feed herself because of some weird mental disability. So, um, I was wondering if-" "You were wondering if I would feed you so she doesn't feel alone?" her mother put in, not sounding at all as mad as Katie thought she would. Katie nodded, "Yeah, basically. I kinda enjoyed being fed by someone else when I was over there." "Alright, you call Laurie and see what she says. If she says yes, get a time. And Katie?" "Yeah mom?" Katie asked, turning around as she was just leaving the room. "If you're going to be acting like a baby, change out of that Greenday shirt." her mother said with a laugh and gave Katie a little pat on her diapered bum out the door. Katie laughed and ran for the phone, knowing that today was going to be very cool. To be continued...
